The Tavern at Cheval | Exceptional Dining & Sunday Brunch in Lutz, FL

What a great evening at The Tavern in Cheval on 10/27/23 our food was fantastic! We started off with 3 people for dinner and we all order the same special for the night fillet mignon, and lobster and all three of us said it was a fantastic dinner. The presentation was quite beautiful. We had vegetables around the center of the steak and lobster it was really really good. Also, there was one of my friends birthday that evening and I had mentioned it to chef Jerry and he came out with a beautiful, delicious lemon cello cake. It was a slice. It was so good so come on down to the tavern. It’s inside Cheval when you come through that gate just tell them that you’re having dinner at the tavern.

Where else do you get a Sunday brunch seafood buffet with fresh crab legs for 24$? Amazing experience, omelette bar, ahi tuna salad, and amazing crepes. The service is excellent. Beautiful view of the golf course and if you have kids, it’s a nice quick break/date when you use the childcare. Drinks are affordable and delicious. Great service. Honestly if you’re a member of the country club this is an amazing place to have to eat.

We truly enjoy everything about The Tavern at Cheval!! Chef Gerry and his wife are so welcoming and gracious in their service. The food is always fresh and delicious ! We usually go for Sunday brunch, but also have enjoyed a burger, fries and a beer in the evening. The ambiance, food, service and atmosphere are all excellent!

Sunday brunch after Church. Had an omelette- delicious! Gerry (omelette chef) was great, very personable and excellent food)! Fresh fruit, waffles- will be back for sure.

I am just moving into the neighborhood but even before buying a house in Cheval I would go out of my way to go visit The Tavern. My wife is gluten free and dairy free and the chef is super intentional and will go out of his way to prepare foods that meet her dietary restrictions. They even serve gluten free pizza which is excellent! I love the anchovies that go on the Cesar Salad, they are high high quality. They have a great selection of drinks and the service is wonderful. The chef always comes by to talk to us and to make sure that everything is to our liking. I highly recommend you come eat at The Tavern, even if you aren’t a golfer!

Our second time at the Sunday brunch. Never disappoints! Omelets are tasty, entrees have great variety and flavor. The service is very exceptional and very friendly. Our weekend spot indeed! Update: Third review! Sunday Brunch, yet again. (Are you sensing a theme yet?) The floor staff and bartender are always friendly, engaging, and helpful. Chef Gerry, you keep making one great buffet dish after another after another. This time, potato pancakes and lightly fried catfish. Excellent! Next review likely will be during karaoke night here.
